Android-based phones use the SMS text messaging service.

Android-based smartphones store the text messages that you send and receive in threads. Each thread contains all of the messages that you've sent and received to and from a certain phone number. Over time, your Android can fill up with old message threads. De-clutter your Android's Messaging section by selectively deleting multiple text message threads from the smartphone.

Instructions

    • 1

Tap the "Messages" icon on your Android's home screen. Press the "Menu" button.

    • 2

Tap "Delete." Your Android opens a list of the message threads present on your phone.

    • 3

Tap the "X" icon next to each thread you want to delete. When you mark a thread for deletion, the "X" turns red.

    • 4

Tap "Delete" when you're finishing marking the threads. Your Android deletes the specified threads from your phone's memory.

Tips & Warnings

  • Once you delete a thread, you cannot restore it.
