How to Make a Glass Cabochon Pendant
Glass cabochon pendants are made using glass tiles or round glass attached to a jewelry finding. Sometimes there is an image beneath the glass. These pendants can be added to any type of chain or string to wear around your neck. Because glass cabochon pendants are inexpensive and easy to make yourself, you can make several different pendants to coordinate with your wardrobe, give away as gifts or sell at a craft fair.
Things You'll Need

- Small image
- Pendant bail
- Chain
- Clear-drying glass adhesive

Instructions

1
Choose and cut out an image that is 1-by-1-inch in size.
-
2
Squeeze a thin coat of clear-drying adhesive made for glass onto the back of a glass tile. The back of the glass tile will have texture to it while the front of the tile will be smooth.
-
-
3
Place the image face down onto the back of the tile and press firmly to remove any air bubbles in the adhesive. Set the tile aside and allow it to dry completely.
-
4
Trim any overhang of the image from your tile with an X-acto knife.
-
5
Squeeze a thin coat of clear-drying adhesive around the edges of the back of the tile. Spread the adhesive using a toothpick from the edges to the middle of the tile. Remove any large air bubbles in the adhesive using your toothpick to either pop them or push them toward the edges of the tile.
-
6
Place the glass tile face down beneath a small cup to keep dust from gathering on the wet adhesive while it dries overnight.
-
7
Attach the bail to the tile by squeezing a tiny amount of jewelry adhesive to the bail and pressing it firmly onto the back of the tile. Allow the adhesive to dry completely.
-
8
Thread the glass cabochon pendant on a chain to wear as a necklace.
