How to Have a Google Number on Android
Google Voice lets you make phone calls and send SMS text messages from your computer, from the Google Voice site, from within Gmail or with standalone third-party programs. When you install the Google Voice app on your Android, you’re able to use your Google Voice phone number to make and receive calls, effectively turning your Android phone into a two-line phone. You can configure the Google Voice app to use Voice for all calls, or let you choose when to use Voice and when to use your carrier-assigned number.

Tips & Warnings
