Removing a Casio MTG Watch Band With a Rubber End

The MTG is a line of G-shock watches manufactured by Casio. These watches are designed for sport and durability and include features such as a stopwatch and a water-proof design. Many of these models also come with rubber bands that wrap around the wrist. If the band on your MTG is broken you should remove it completely in order to replace it. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Lay your watch face-down on a microfiber cloth. This will protect the face of the watch while you work on it.

    • 2

Insert the forked end of a standard springbar tool into the space between the side of the leather strap and the case lug on the watch. A springbar tool can be purchased from a watch repair shop.

    • 3

Apply pressure to the strap by prying the strap away from the case lug.

    • 4

Press down on the strap as you pry. The strap will detach from the case lug and watch.

    • 5

Fit a new strap in the old one's place. If the new strap is too wide you can shave the rubber ends down with a razor blade.
