How to Knit a Triangle Border
A triangle border adds something extra to almost any completed knitting project. A cape, blanket, sweater or scarf can benefit from the added length and shape that a triangle border offers. A triangle border is also an ideal addition to some children's and adults' costumes.

Cast on six stitches. With the right side of the border facing you, knit three stitches. Yarn over, then knit five stitches. Knit row two all the way across.

Knit row three by increasing the number of stitches in the "point." Knit three, yarn over, then knit seven where last time you knitted five. The degree of increase will vary somewhat according to how steep an angle you want for your triangles. Increase this number less for a wider triangle. Knit row four straight across.

Knit row five by increasing your number of stitches again. In row four, knit three, yarn over, then knit nine. Complete row six by knitting straight across.

Knit rows seven, nine, 11 and 12 in the same fashion. Knit three, yarn over, then knit the number of stitches in the previous odd-numbered row plus two. The even-number rows are knit straight across along the previous rows' stitches.

Repeat rows 1-12 until you have created enough of a triangle border for your project.

Sew your triangle border to any complete knitted project using with needle and thread, using a whip stitch.
