  1. Clean the Shuttle Area

      Raise the needle bar to its full height and then take the bobbin case out.

      Set the shuttle race levers down and then take the shuttle out.

      Use a lint brush to clean the shuttle race out and then place a single drop of sewing machine oil onto the shuttle's center pin.

      Slip the shuttle race cover over the shuttle and then snap the levers back into place.

    Remove Insert Bobbin

      Rotate the hand wheel facing you to raise the needle to its maximum height.

      Slide open the bobbin holder latch and slide the bobbin out through the shuttle cover.

      Inspect the bobbin and replace it with a new one if it is bent or damaged.

      Hold the bobbin latch open and then slide the bobbin into position until it clicks into place.

      Slip the thread into the slot on the bobbin case. Run the thread underneath the tension spring and then bobbin shuttle cover.
