How to Frame a Stretched Canvas
Often a piece of canvas art is stretched across a wooden frame. The canvas is typically wrapped around a wooden frame and stapled in place. It is often desirable to put a stretched canvas into a traditional picture frame and a wooden frame must be considered since the canvas has no other support. Putting a stretched canvas into a frame is a relatively easy task. Does this Spark an idea?

Position the frame on a flat and sturdy work surface such as a table. The frame should be face down on the surface.

Position the stretched canvas face down onto the mounting ridge on the inside of the frame. Typical frames have an edge to mount glass or pictures. The stretched canvas should sit on this edge.

Secure the stretched canvas in place using the frame clips. These are small flat pieces of metal that have one end with a hole to attach to the frame and the other side holds the picture in the frame. Use the hammer to nail the clips into place and position them at least two per side.
