How to Make a Diaper Organizer

How to Make a Diaper Organizer thumbnail
Neat stacks of diapers can collapse when not inside an organizer.

When you need to access a fresh diaper quickly, it helps to have your diapers organized. Rummaging around for a diaper cuts into your precious time, but a diaper organizer allows you to know exactly where your diapers are and keeps them neatly stacked after removing one that you need. Rather than purchasing a diaper organizer from the baby supply store, make one yourself and customize it to your baby's nursery and initials.

Instructions

    • 1

Use scissors to cut one side off of a 22-inch by 15-inch by 6-inch cardboard box, so that when the rectangular box is laid on its bottom the top of the box is wide open.

    • 2

Wrap the box in fabric using fabric glue to adhere it. Use one type of fabric, or use a variety of fabric scraps to cover the inside and the outside of the box. To fit the pieces of fabric onto the cardboard box you will need to use scissors to cut the cloth.

    • 3

Measure the width and depth of the cardboard box with a tape measure. Write the dimensions down. Mark a cardboard sheet with the dimensions using a pencil. For instance, if the width of the box is 15-inches and the depth is 6-inches, create a rectangle that meets these dimensions. The shape will fit into the box to serve as dividers for the diapers.

    • 4

Cut the rectangular shape out of the cardboard sheet. Apply liquid craft glue to three of the edges of the cardboard cutout. Place the glued edges into the cardboard box, with the unglued edge facing up towards the box's opening. Create multiple dividers to separate the diapers so that you can fit five diapers in between every divider. The dividers are necessary for supporting the diapers so that they do not lean over and fall whenever a diaper is removed from the organizer.

    • 5

Allow the glued dividers to dry overnight. If you wish, you can line them with fabric. When you are finished place the diapers in between the dividers and store the organizer underneath the crib or in a closet.
