You can use an uncomplicated wire wrapping technique to make frameless pictures. This type of “frameless” frame is used to striking effect for small watercolor paintings and small photographs. The wrapping technique includes a wire for hanging, which can be used to hook the picture from a wall with a cup hook. Things You'll Need

  • 4-inch-square painting or photograph
  • Two pieces of 5-inch-square clear glass
  • Silver foil tape
  • 20-gauge wire
  • Wire nippers
  • Cup hook or suction hook

Instructions

      Sandwich the picture between the two pieces of glass, centering the picture.

      Press the silver foil tape along the cut edges of the glass around the entire perimeter.

      Cut a 45-inch piece of 20-gauge wire with the nippers. Wrap the wire around the glass once at the top, 1 inch from the edge. Twist the wire to secure it tightly.

      Wrap the wire around the adjacent side of the glass, 1 inch from the edge, and twist the wire to secure it. Repeat along the other two sides.

      Screw the cup hook into the wall or attach the suction hook to the window pane. Hook the back of the top wire over the hook to hang the picture.
