How to Make a Wreath for the New Arrival of a Baby
New baby wreaths are a cute alternative to diaper cakes for the arrival of new babies. These wreaths can be made with a variety of new baby essentials, including diapers, onesies, socks, rattles, pacifiers, small stuffed toys and small lotions and shampoos. New baby wreaths can be given as homecoming gifts or used as baby shower decorations.
Things You'll Need
- Styrofoam wreath base
- Diapers
- Scissors
- Curling ribbon
- Baby essentials
- Double sided tape
Instructions
-
-
1
Lay the wreath base flat on a clean surface.
-
2
Open a diaper, leaving the sides folded in, and put the diaper around the base so that the fold of the diaper is on the inside of the wreath ring and the open ends of the diaper are sticking out on either side of the ring.
-
-
3
Cut a piece of curling ribbon long enough to tie the diaper ends together and still have enough hanging to curl the ends.
-
4
Gather the two open ends of the diaper and bunch them up as close to the wreath base as possible. Tie the curling ribbon tightly around the diaper ends to secure the diaper to the base.
-
5
Attach diapers all around the wreath base in the same manner, until there is no space left to fit another diaper. Fit as many diapers on as you can.
-
6
Attach baby essentials such as socks, onesies and pacifiers with more curling ribbon. Use double-sided tape to hold items in place before tying down.
