How to Stop Redirecting and Jump

Viruses and Trojans are often the culprit of Web browser redirects and jumps. If you are experiencing random redirects when browsing the Internet, a remote computer hacker has likely hijacked your computer system. To stop the redirects and jumps, an anti-virus program must be used to get rid of the malicious files causing the redirects. The Windows Defender comes installed on Windows computers; the program is capable of scanning and removing harmful viruses and malicious files from your system.

Instructions

    • 1

Click “Start” at the bottom of the screen.

    • 2

Type “Windows Defender” in the search box at the bottom of the Start menu. Press “Enter.”

    • 3

Click “Scan” from the top menu in Windows Defender and then select “Full Scan.” Windows Defender scans your entire hard drive for the virus or malicious files causing the redirect and unexpected jumps in your browser. This could take several hours depending on how many files reside on your system.

    • 4

Click the “X” in the upper right corner of Windows Defender to close the program after the malicious files have been removed.
