How to Get Dratini on the Pokewalker in "Pokemon"

In the “Pokemon” video game series, Dratini is a creature that resembles a small sea serpent. Like most Dragon-type Pokemon, Dratini is an elusive creature that rarely presents itself to humans. However, if you manage to capture a Dratini, it will lend you its wide-variety of elemental attacks, including Thunder Wave and Dragon Rage. You can find a Dratini in the Blue Lake area of a Pokewalker.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the Nintendo DS near your Pokewalker so the two devices can communicate wirelessly.

    • 2

Choose “Go for a Stroll” from the “Pokemon SoulSilver” or “Pokemon HeartGold” menu on your Nintendo DS.

    • 3

Pick a Pokemon to accompany you to the Pokewalker. You can choose any Pokemon in your storage collection. Afterward, an area selection screen will appear.

    • 4

Select the Blue Lake area. This area is only available if you have saved 2,000 watts on your Pokewalker. You earn one watt for every 20 steps you take.

    • 5

Press “Connect” on your Pokewalker to begin the course.

    • 6

Walk over 5,000 steps with your Pokewalker on. This will lure out wild Dratini.

    • 7

Choose the “Pokeradar” option from the Pokewalker’s menu. Four patches of grass will appear on the screen.

    • 8

Select any patches of grass that present an exclamation mark. The exclamation mark disappears after a few seconds, so you must be quick. A wild Pokemon will emerge from the grass. Repeat this step until a Dratini emerges.

    • 9

Select the “Attack” button to lower Dratini’s health bar. Use the “Evade” command to dodge its strikes and counterattack.

    • 10

Choose the “Catch” option to throw a PokeBall. If Dratini’s health is low enough, the PokeBall will capture it.
