Instructions

1
Start with a clean face; remove any existent makeup with makeup remover before beginning your Bettie Page look.
-
2
Squirt a pump of makeup primer into your palm, and smooth it over your face and neck; you want it to go on in an even layer. This will keep the makeup on your face longer.

3
Squirt a pump or two of liquid foundation into your palm, and apply it to your face with your fingers. Again, you want it to go on evenly; rub the makeup in using circular motions with your fingertips.
-
4
Use the brush that comes with your powder compact to apply powder over the foundation. The powder will also help to keep the makeup in place longer, and give your face that matte look that was so popular in the 1950s. You have to make sure the powder is blended in well; you don't want a chalky look.
-
5
Sharpen your lipliner pencil to a fine point; this will ensure you get that precise Bettie Page lip look.
-
6
Line your lips with your lipliner, and fill them in with your favorite red lipstick. Blot away any excess lipstick with a paper towel.
-
7
Run your finger across your sheer, neutral-colored eyeshadow and then blend it into your eyelids. With the Bettie Page look, your eyeshadow should not be bold; its function is to keep the signature winged eyeliner in place.
-
8
Use the brush that comes with your liquid liner to carefully, slowly line your upper eyelids with eyeliner. Start with the inner corner of your eyes and work your way out, tapering off into a cat-eye shape. You can choose to have a really dramatic wing or can be more subtle with it.
-
9
Finish off your makeup look by applying a thick coat of volumizing, waterproof mascara.
-
10
Use an eyelash curler to make your eyelashes really pop.
