Instructions

    • 1

Pour 1 cup of white vinegar into a plastic container.

    • 2

Dip several rags into the vinegar until they become saturated, soaking up most of the vinegar. Remove the rags and allow the excess vinegar to drip back into the container.

    • 3

Cover each of the handles with a rag. Use as many rags as necessary to cover the rest of the faucet as well to prevent any incipient lime scale from spreading.

    • 4

Fasten the rags to the handles and other parts of the faucet with rubber bands. Leave them in place for 1 hour to allow the white vinegar to dissolve the lime.

    • 5

Remove the rags and rinse the handles and the rest of the faucet thoroughly with water. Dry the entire faucet with a clean cloth.

Tips & Warnings

  • A heavy coating of lime scale may require a longer soaking time. If the lime scale is not dissolved entirely after 1 hour, reapply the vinegar-soaked rags and leave them on the faucet overnight.
