Wearing rosary bracelets can remind people to pray to the Virgin Mary.

Rosaries have been used since the 12th century, when the Virgin Mary appeared before St. Dominic and asked him to spread devotion to the rosary. People use rosaries as guides for prayers. They help people to purify their hearts as they ask the mother of God for compassion and guidance. There are many different types of rosaries, such as rosary necklaces, rosary rings, rosary keychains and rosary bracelets. Many people prefer rosary bracelets because of their convenience. Knotted rosary bracelets provide a sense of authenticity and simplicity. With a few materials, you can practice making rosary bracelet knots at home.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut 2 feet of nylon twine.

    • 2

Fold the center of the nylon twine over your middle fingers.

    • 3

Create an "X" shape by looping the twine around your middle finger.

    • 4

Repeat the previous step twice but wrap twine around your middle finger toward the direction of your palm instead of toward your fingertip.

    • 5

Put the end of the twine into the loops.

    • 6

Pull the length of the twine through the three loops.

    • 7

Remove the three loops from your middle finger.

    • 8

Pull the twine to tighten and shorten the knot.

    • 9

Hold the knot tightly with one hand and pull hard to make a nice knot with the other hand.

    • 10

Repeat the previous steps to create nine more knots for a total of 10 Hail Mary knots that will complete the rosary.

    • 11

Cut the excess twine after finishing all of the knots.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do every step gently unless specified to prevent crisscrossing and tangling the twine.
