How to Change HTC EVO Text Notification

You can change the text notification at any time.

You can personalize your HTC EVO smartphone by changing the text message notification sound. When you receive the phone, a default tone is selected for you. The tone is the same for other alerts on your phone. Changing the tone helps you to distinguish a new text message from another alert without actually looking at your phone. You can use a pre-loaded or downloaded tone for the text message notification.

Instructions

1. Press “Home” on your HTC EVO to view the home screen. Enter your lock code or draw the lock pattern if the phone is protected.

2. Touch “Messages” and press the “Menu” button. A menu for managing your messages will appear at the bottom of the screen.

3. Touch “Settings,” and then touch “Notification Sound.” The tones currently saved on your phone and memory card will be displayed.

4. Touch the tone you want to use for text messages. As you touch each tone, a preview is played. Touch “OK” to save the tone.
