How to Get Massive Volume in Your Hair

Getting massive volume from hair is a simple way to alter hair that anyone can achieve, no matter how thin it may be naturally. Whether you seek to gain a new confidence in your appearance, get a tousled look or impress others, increasing the volume of your hair does not have to be expensive or a hassle.

Things You'll Need

• Shampoo
• Conditioner
• Brush
• Mousse
• Blow dryer

Instructions

1. Shampoo your hair thoroughly. If your hair is very greasy or is weighed down with products, shampoo it more than once to get all of the residue out. The lighter your hair is, the better volume you will have. Also, consider using volumizing shampoo instead of regular shampoo.

2. Condition your hair, also using a volumizing conditioner. However, do not add conditioner to the roots of your hair. Instead squeeze conditioner into your palms and rub it along the ends of your hair, avoiding the scalp. Leaving the roots conditioner-free will make them lighter and allow for more volume.

3. Towel-dry your hair, then distribute a small amount of volumizing mousse all along your scalp. The mousse will provide slight hold for your roots. Flip your head over so that your hair is hanging upside down. Brush your hair thoroughly to remove tangles and knots.

4. Keep your head down and blow dry your hair that way to give your roots lift. If this is uncomfortable for you, simply section your hair into parts and, for the front part, lift your hair into the air and blowdry upwards towards your ends to give your roots lift. Avoid adding extra moisturizers or heavy hairsprays to your hair, as these will only weigh it down.
