How to Make an Origami Puff Heart

Origami is not limited to just square paper. Use long strips of paper to make hearts and stars that puff out. These 3D hearts use short strips of paper. Use pre-cut origami paper strips that are used to make 3D stars, and cut them into smaller strips. Alternatively, cut strips of paper out of origami squares. The puffy origami heart is small. Make dozens of them and use them as confetti or string them to make necklaces, bracelets or earrings.

    • 8

Tuck the left edge inside the pocket located on the left edge of the triangle.

    • 9

Turn the triangle so the long edge points up. Press down at the center of the long edge using your pointer fingers.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want rounder edges on the tips of the heart, cut them with scissors. The heart will not fall apart when you cut the corners.
