Use tables to arrange text, images and elements on a Web page using Netscape Composer, which is included in the Netscape Communicator package.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Netscape Communicator

Step1
Start Composer and choose Open from the File menu. Locate the page you want and double-click to open it.
Step2
Position the cursor where the table will appear.
Step3
Open the Insert menu and choose Table, or click on the Table icon on the toolbar. A dialog box will appear.
Step4
Choose the properties and dimensions of the table from the options presented.
Step5
Add color or images to the table's background in the Table Background box. When finished, click OK.
Step6
Fill in the cells with text or graphics. Just click in a cell to type there.
Step7
Save the file and click on the Preview button to view it in the Netscape Navigator browser.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remove the table border or any other element by unchecking the corresponding checkbox.
  • "Cell padding" means the space around the cell. Keep in mind that this space is not filled with color if you use a background color when creating a table.
