How to Blend Concealer to Cover Creases
Moisture is the key to effectively blending concealer into uneven skin. Since concealer dries quickly, it may start to dry and cake before you finish applying it to creases or wrinkles. Having uneven concealer is often worse than not wearing concealer at all because it draws attention to the area you want to obscure. It is critical to apply concealer in thin, even layers and add moisturizer when necessary. By executing a few basic techniques, you can blend concealer over creases flawlessly every time. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Squeeze a pea-sized dollop of moisturizer onto your finger.
-
2
Rub your fingertip on your skin in small, circular motions to apply moisturizer to your entire face. Concentrate on the creased areas. Squeeze more product onto your finger, as needed.
-
-
3
Rub the product into your skin thoroughly and gently. The pores should absorb the moisturizer quickly. Your skin should not feel damp after you apply the product. It should feel supple.
-
4
Apply concealer in a dot pattern directly on the creases. For stick concealer or wand applicator, press it to your skin gently to leave pea-sized dots. You can also dab a brush into the concealer and dab it on the crease to leave light, pea-sized dots. Apply one dot of concealer for every one-half inch of skin you need to cover.
-
5
Squeeze a small bead of moisturizer onto the top of your non-dominant hand so that you can access it easily while you blend the concealer.
-
6
Rub your fingertip in small, circular motions to spread the concealer dots evenly.
-
7
Blend multiple dots of concealer into each other so that the application looks uniform. Blend the edges of the concealer-covered area into the rest of your skin so that the concealer's presence is not easily detectable.
-
8
Dab your fingertip into the moisturizer on your hand if the concealer is caking or not spreading evenly. Rub the moisturizer onto uneven concealer. The moisturizer will cut the buildup so that you can disperse the concealer evenly.
-
9
Apply more concealer, if needed. Layer limited amounts of the product instead of trying to apply a single, opaque layer.
-
10
Dust your entire face lightly with face powder to set the concealer. Apply the powder with a large makeup brush, not the applicator pad included with the powder. A brush keeps the application light, even and natural-looking.

Tips & Warnings
Sometimes, you may not be able to cover a crease or discoloration completely. Though you could slather concealer over the area to obscure the crease, the concealer would look unnatural and draw attention to the troubled area. Your goal should be natural-looking coverage, not total, opaque coverage. The concealed area should visually blend into the rest of your face seamlessly.
