How to Knit a Raised Ribbing Stitch

A raised ribbing stitch keeps your ribbing from stretching out and emphasizes the knit stitches on the right side of the piece. The stitch is simple to work and creates a lovely texture for most any garment. The raised ribbing is also known as a cross stitch ribbing, using a twist of two stitches to create the effect of the raised ribs.
