Instructions

    • 1

Choose a lipstick and lip liner color that suit your skin tone. Cool shades are the most appropriate if your skin has pink undertones, while warm shades pair well with skin that has yellow undertones.

    • 2

Remove dead, dry skin from your lips using a lip scrub. Follow the directions on the package. This prepares the surface of your lips for the lipstick and lip liner.

    • 3

Sharpen your lip liner, which should be similar, or the same, in color as your lipstick, using a lip pencil sharpener. Hold the lip liner gently but firmly in your hand and outline the shape of your lips along the top and bottom, reaching into the corners.

    • 4

Apply a layer of lipstick to your top and bottom lips using a lip brush. To use a lip brush, brush it on top of the lipstick until it is evenly coated in color before applying. You can also apply lipstick straight from the tube. Be careful to stay within the lines you drew in Step 3.

    • 5

Use blotting tissue to blot your lips, which helps lipstick to stay on longer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make your own lip scrub at home using white sugar and water.

  • To avoid getting lipstick on your teeth, place a finger in your mouth, close your lips around it and remove it. Excess lipstick on the inside of your lips will come off on your finger.
