How to Get a Blade Out of an Oster Bread Maker

Oster bread machines are small appliances that allow you to enjoy fresh baked bread at home. The baking process takes approximately three hours. During the first 10 minute of the cycle, the ingredients are mixed and kneaded, using a kneading blade that must be inserted into the bread pan before the ingredients are added. After the bread is finished baking, you must remove the kneading blade for cleaning, although in some cases, it may become stuck and pull out of the bread pan with the loaf of bread. Care should be used whenever removing the kneading blade to avoid burning yourself if the blade is still hot. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Lift the bread pan out of the bread machine, using the handle. If the pan is hot, be sure to wear pot holders.

    • 2

Place the pan upside down on a clean surface, such a cutting board, and then remove the bread from the pan. If the bread sticks to the pan, use a rubber spatula to gently remove it.

    • 3

Lift the pan off of the bread and set it aside, allowing it to completely cool.

    • 4

Grasp the kneading blade and pull it straight up, and away from the bread pan to remove.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the kneading blade is difficult to remove, submerse the bread pan in warm water for 15 minutes, which loosens the kneading blade.

  • If the kneading blade comes out with the bread, use a rubber spatula, rather than your hands, to remove it.
