Calibrating a DS Screen

Calirate your Nintendo DS's touch screen.

The Nintendo DS helped revolutionize the way people play handheld games, using two screens, including a touch screen. If your touch screen begins behaving erratically, such as failing to recognize your stylus as you tap on-screen items, you might need to recalibrate the display. Use the system's built-in calibration options to tune the Nintendo DS's touch screen to get it back in working order.

Instructions

1. Pull out any game cartridges from your DS, and turn on the system.

2. Tap your screen with the stylus, or press "A" when the start-up screen appears.

3. Select the Nintendo DS icon on the lower portion of the screen

4. Select the brownish-yellow crosshair icon on the right side. The calibration process begins.

5. Touch the red square on the screen with your stylus. Each time you touch the square, a new one appears. Repeat this step until a "Confirm" message appears.

6. Tap "Confirm." A new message opens.

7. Touch "Quit." A confirmation prompt opens informing you the system will reset.

8. Tap "Yes."
