Cleanse and moisturize your face with gentle products.

When pores become clogged with dirt and oil, it's beneficial to cleanse them using an exfoliate to prevent an acne breakout. Many over the counter exfoliators are efficient at cleansing your skin, however, the harsh ingredients often found in these products can cause drying. Make your own exfoliate that moisturizes your skin as it cleanses. Making your own mixture saves money and allows you to treat your skin with all-natural ingredients. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Choose ingredients that will cleanse and moisturize your skin at the same time. Honey and milk help remove dead skin on your face, which clogs pores, while infusing your skin with moisture. Tea tree oil, a natural antiseptic, helps kill bacteria and soothe skin.

    • 2

Combine your ingredients together in the right proportions. Place 3 tablespoons of honey, ½ cup milk and 2 drops of tea tree oil in a bowl and stir until the ingredients are mixed.

    • 3

Wash your hands so that you're working with clean fingers.

    • 4

Splash warm water on your face to dampen your skin. Scoop some of the exfoliating moisturizer into your hands and massage it into your skin, rubbing your fingers in gentle circles.

    • 5

Allow the mixture to sit on your skin for 5 minutes, once it's rubbed in.

    • 6

Rinse the exfoliating moisturizer off your skin using a clean washcloth and warm water. Pat dry with a clean towel, don't rub.
