Instructions

    • 1

Wash your hair using a non-sulfate shampoo; the sulfates in ordinary shampoo cause curly and wavy hair to frizz up. Massage conditioner into your scalp and hair; allow the conditioner to sit for two minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

    • 2

Comb your wet hair with a wide-toothed comb to detangle your hair; according to the "Curly Girl" method, round brushes can cause curls to separate, resulting in more frizziness.

    • 3

Trim your hair while it is still damp. Take a small section of hair, 1/2 inch wide, and trim split ends with a pair of hair shears. Make the cut perpendicular to the hair strands. Continue to trim your hair in small sections to remove all split ends.

Allow your hair to air dry. If you must use a blow dryer, apply a diffuser to your hair before drying it.
