How to Remove Grease From an Alligator Purse
An alligator purse can be a unique addition to your handbag collection. However, improper care and cleaning can leave the purse looking a mess. When grease comes in contact with the alligator hide it will cause a discoloration of the purse that may become permanent if not dealt with in a timely manner. Things You'll Need
- Plastic spoon
- Lint-free cloths
- Talcum powder
- Trash can
- Alligator leather cleaner
- Alligator leather conditioner

Remove congealed grease from the purse by carefully scooping it off with a plastic spoon. Blot liquefied grease off the exotic leather with a cloth.

Sprinkle talcum powder over the lingering grease. Let the talcum powder sit on the grease overnight.

Hold the alligator purse over a trash can and gently brush the talcum powder off the hide with a clean, dry cloth.

Moisten a lint-free cloth with cool water and wipe any lingering talcum powder off the alligator purse.

Clean the purse with a cleaner approved for alligator leather as you normally would. Buff the purse with a lint-free cloth dampened with conditioner approved for alligator leather.
