Instructions

    • 1

Plug in and turn on the Hot Tools 3 Barrel Waver. Set the temperature to the desired heat setting; medium-heat is hot enough for most hair.

    • 2

Comb the hair out thoroughly. Spritz a thermal heat protectant spray on the hair to protect it from the heat and lock in the style.

    • 3

Separate the hair into sections. Many prefer to work from the back to the front of the head. Use your fingers or a comb to create a part from ear to ear along the back of the scalp. Pin the rest of the hair up with a clip.

    • 4

Re-comb the separated section of hair, and lightly spritz the section with medium-hold hair spray.

    • 5

Press down on the handle of the waver to separate the barrels, and insert a 3-inch-to-4-inch-wide section of hair in between the separated barrels. Position the barrels a 1/2 inch to 1 inch from the scalp.

    • 6

Close the prongs and allow the hair to remain enclosed for 10 to 15 seconds. Release the handle and allow the hair to slide out.

    • 7

Move the barrels down the section of hair and repeat the process until the section is completely waved.

    • 8

Separate another section of hair and repeat the process.

Tips & Warnings

  • Spritz medium-hold hair spray over the entire head once you are finished waving.

  • Comb out the waves to give them a more relaxed look.

  • Curl the ends of the hair with a single-barrel curling iron to give the look a little more definition.
