How to Hide Zits With Clothes

How to Hide Zits With Clothes thumbnail
The biggest acne problem areas are the face, back and chest.

Acne is nobody's friend. But zits and pimples can be inspiration to experiment with clothes combinations that you would not have otherwise tried. According to the book "The Acne Prescription," no one is really safe from zits except maybe those aged 2 to 6 years old. But even if an acne treatment doesn't bring the results you desire, you can be sure of at least two things: you're not alone, and clothes to cover up your zits can be your temporary best friend. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Analyze the social setting. Imagine where you'll be and what kind of clothing is normal for that setting. For example, if you live in Minnesota and you're going winter skiing, your zits are covered, but only as long as you're outside. What about in the chalet? Wear a beanie while inside -- which is normal -- if you have forehead zits.

    • 2

Know some common "coverup clothes." Your breakout will be easier to bear when you have clear in mind what's in your clothing arsenal. Wear headbands, hoodies, big sunglasses, baseball or stocking caps, or even a swim cap when at the pool. For areas that can be more difficult to cover during summer months, such as the upper back and chest, use distracting clothing. Wear bright patterned clothes that divert attention away from your skin.

    • 3

Wear clothing that's kind to your skin. Avoid tighter clothing that tends to chafe the skin and aggravates zits and pimples. Avoid backpacks when possible if you have back zits. Steer clear of red clothing (especially scarves), which highlights reddened, irritated skin.

    • 4

Sacrifice some fashion pride if necessary. Hiding your zits may mean having to wear some abnormal clothing at peculiar times. Choose what's more important to you -- hiding your zits or staying fashionable in front of others.

    • 5

Control the setting. If you're worried over an upcoming social event that would expose your troubled skin, try exerting creative control. Are you throwing a party? Switch to a masquerade ball theme or another setting that involves wearing more clothes and accessories. Are you going on a date in Arizona in August? Make plans to go ice skating at an indoor ice rink and dress warmly. Meet on the ice.
