How to Make Graphics for GetResponse

How to Make Graphics for GetResponse thumbnail
GetResponse allows users to create newsletters with graphics.

GetResponse, which is made by Implix, is an online email marketing software program for designing graphics-based newsletters. The software does not include ways to create graphics, but it has an image gallery with more than 1,000 free images and more than 300 design templates.

To create your own graphics for GetResponse, you can use any standard image-editing software program and save your graphics with the jpgs file extension. Working with GetResponse for graphic design primarily involves using its pre-designed, industry-themed templates to create visual layouts, change color palettes and swap graphic images.

Instructions

    • 1

Find the GetResponse toolbar at the top of the software program's screen, and click on "Messages." Toggle your computer's mouse cursor to the first option on the far left side of the screen, and click on "Create Newsletter." The option to choose hypertext markup language (HTML) as the format will appear on the left side of the screen, and the option of "Plain Text" format will appear on the right side. Click on the option "HTML Format."

    • 2

Select a template by choosing an industry category on the left side of the page. Roll your computer's mouse cursor over a template thumbnail, and more options will appear. Select and load a template by clicking on "Choose This Template."

Click the "Personalize" option on the upper right side of the screen, and you will see the "Contact Data Fields." Select the "[[firstname]]" and "[[email]]" fields to personalize from where the newsletter will be sent. Then go to the subject field at the top of the screen, and type in a subject line to describe your newsletter.

    • 3

The HTML template is pre-filled with placeholder text. Change the text by highlighting any existing text with your mouse and pasting over it with your own content. Mouse-over and highlight any text you don't need, and press the "Backspace" key on your computer's keyboard to delete that text. Edit the appearance of text by choosing "Format" from GetResponse's upper toolbar menu and choosing a text style option.

    • 4

Replace a graphic, including a picture or animation, in your template by clicking on the "Multimedia Button," which is the second icon on the upper right side of the GetResponse toolbar. To swap an image, click on the "Insert/Edit Image Button" icon located on the center of the toolbar. That action causes a dialog box to appear. To insert a new image, choose an image from an online server location that begins with "http://" and click on "Update."

    • 5

Insert a photograph directly into your newsletter by clicking on an existing image in your template. Add an iStock image to your newsletter by clicking on the "Multimedia Button" on the GetResponse toolbar and then dragging your computer mouse down to the "iStock" tab. This action brings up the iStock Image Gallery. Choose a category, and thumbnail photographs will appear to scroll through. When you find a photograph to use, click on the "Add to Email" tab below the photograph, and the image will be added to your newsletter.
