Make a vibrant necklace with candy and beads.

Fruity, ring-shaped Life Saver candies can be just as fun to wear as they are to eat. Kids of all ages can use the candies to make edible necklaces for themselves or as charming gifts. The candy necklaces also make sweet party favors. Customize the Life Saver colors to reflect the theme of the celebration, such as red candies for a Valentine's Day get-together, or orange and purple for a Halloween bash.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure a 10- to-15-inch length of string or thin licorice rope, depending on the size of the child who'll be wearing the necklace, with a tape measure. Cut the string or licorice to size with scissors.

    • 2

Slide one Life Saver in any color of your choice onto the string or licorice. String a decorative plastic bead on after the Life Saver. Don't use the plastic beads if you're making the necklace for a small child, as they may be a choking hazard.

    • 3

Continue sliding the Life Savers and beads onto the string or licorice in an alternating fashion. Use at least five candies and five beads to create a full necklace.

    • 4

Tie the end of the string or licorice into a knot so that you can easily slip the necklace on and off over the child's head.
