How to Make Your Own Wax for the Legs
Making your own leg wax at home means you can enjoy the benefits of a spa treatment without the expensive bill tacked on at the end. A popular form of body wax is really a sugar-based product and can be made with ingredients you may already have on hand, or can find easily in the grocery store. Waxing the legs means the hair takes longer to regrow, and the treatment is an exfoliant for your skin. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Pour the sugar into a saucepan. Use a pan large enough to hold the ingredients and have some space left over. A 1-qt. size is adequate but a 2 qt. would be better; the mixture may rise when boiling.
-
2
Add the water and lemon juice to the sugar. Place the pan over medium heat.

-
3
Stir frequently as the mixture heats. When the sugar begins to boil, stir continuously to keep it from sticking to the pan or boiling over.
-
4
Check the temperature with the candy thermometer. When the temperature reaches 250 degrees Fahrenheit, remove the pan from the heat.
-
5
Pour the sugar immediately into a clean container that has a tight fitting lid. Use when cooled to a comfortable temperature, and the wax feels like a thick, sticky putty.
