How to Keep an Organza Wedding Dress From Wrinkling
A wedding is a major rite of passage. For many, it represents an opportunity to take center stage in a carefully produced, somewhat theatrical event. Choosing a wedding gown is challenging enough. Once you've selected and altered it comes the burden of ensuring it looks its best on your wedding day. Silk organza as dress material tends to wrinkle quite readily. In an elaborate design that includes a lengthy train, for example, discouraging wrinkles can prove a beastly job. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Steam or press the gown thoroughly. Often, your dressmaker will provide this service.
-
2
Hang the gown on a padded dress hanger to provide gentle support at the shoulders.
-
-
3
Avoid enclosing the dress in a dress bag that is too narrow to accommodate the skirt and/or the train.
-
4
Stuff the bodice with tissue paper. If you are to be storing the dress in a horizontal position, stuff tissue into portions of the skirt, as well, especially near the waistline.
-
5
Avoid folding or bunching the dress if you must pack it for a trip to your wedding destination. This may not always be possible, but an ounce of prevention can help eliminate stress and steaming time on the wedding day.
-
6
Place the dress in a steam-filled bathroom. The steam will help the organza release any wrinkles that might have formed. If wrinkles remain, steam or iron the dress on the wrong side to freshen it up.
