Consider the style of your wedding dress. If your wedding dress is strapless, you may want to shop for bridesmaid dresses that are strapless as well. Complement a floor-length wedding dress with bridesmaid dresses of the same style. If your dress has a shrug, select matching shrugs for their dresses as well.

Match your bridesmaid dress material to your wedding dress. Select dresses that are made from the same fabric as your wedding dress. If the wedding dress is satin, choose bridesmaid dresses that are also satin, for example.

Choose one embellishment or detail from your wedding dress and add it to the bridesmaid dresses. If your wedding dress has a colored sash, you could have your bridesmaids wear the same sash. If you have a special brooch pinned to the side of the dress, have the bridesmaids wear that same brooch on the sides of their dresses as well.

Tips & Warnings
Avoid selecting dresses that are exactly like your wedding dress. Although wearing white will distinguish you, you still want the dress to stand apart from rest.
