How to Remove a Gargoyle Car Alarm

Putting an end to incessant beeping at odd hours is one reason to remove a car alarm.

Car alarm systems such as the Gargoyle Car Alarm can deteriorate and fail after years of continuous use. And potential buyers of your vehicle may not be interested in the currently installed alarm system and may want to install a different system of their own. In either case, you will have to remove the existing car alarm from the vehicle.

Instructions

1. Open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal cable from the battery, to reduce risk of shock and damage to electrical components. Remove the 15-amp fuse from the fuse holder near the battery terminals.

2. Locate the Gargoyle car alarm’s control module. Common areas for installation include the underside of the driver's side or passenger's side dashboard or underneath the front seats.

3. Disconnect the wiring from the control module. Unbolt the module from its mounting area with a socket wrench and remove it from the vehicle. Reconnect the negative terminal cable onto the battery.

Tips & Warnings

• It is best to retain the wiring for the Gargoyle car alarm in case you want to reinstall the system at a future date.
