How to Tighten a Kohler Faucet

When a Kohler faucet becomes loose, one of the mounting rings underneath the faucet needs tightening. If you look below your sink you will see these mounting rings. Every Kohler faucet has them, and they are slightly different than other faucet mounting nuts. The brackets screw onto the faucet shaft and they include screws you can tighten to help secure the faucet to the sink top. A quick turn or two usually holds the faucet securely in place. Instructions

    • 1

Locate the mounting ring under your faucet. If you have a single handle kitchen faucet, there is only one bracket right below the body of the faucet. If you have a double handle faucet, there is a ring underneath each handle. Find the ring for the part that is loose.

    • 2

Turn the mounting ring until it pulls up flush with the washer beneath it. This ring must be threaded onto the shaft below the faucet in order to secure the faucet to the counter top.

    • 3

Tighten the screws in the mounting ring with a screwdriver until the bracket pushes away from the ring and firmly holds the faucet in place. There are two screws on each ring.

    • 4

Repeat the steps on each part of the faucet that is loose. This includes the faucet spout and handles, if your faucet has double center set or widespread handles.

    • 5

Continue to tighten the bracket and screws as needed to maintain a tight installation.
