How to Make Chalkboard Walls
Chalkboard walls can add a playful, unexpected touch to any room of your home. Messages jotted down on a kitchen wall will help keep your family informed. A play room or child’s room is also an ideal place for a chalkboard wall. You can make a chalkboard wall using chalkboard paint. Things You'll Need
- Cleaning cloth
- Warm soapy water
- Chalkboard paint
- Roller Tray
- Paint roller
- Angled brush

Wash the wall you have selected as the chalkboard wall with a cleaning cloth and warm soapy water. Allow the wall to air dry before you continue with the project.

Add chalkboard paint to a roller tray. Roll a paint roller in the tray to soak up the paint. Apply an even coat of chalkboard paint to the wall. Leave the edges around the wall unpainted. You can touch those up later. Allow the first coat to dry for four house and apply a second coat.

Touch up the edges around the wall with an angled brush. Allow the first touch-up coat to dry for four hours and apply a second coat. Allow the final coat of paint to dry for 48 hours before using the wall.

Tips & Warnings
Add a chair rail molding across the wall at chair back level to create a decorative place to rest your extra chalk.
Apply the paint in a well-ventilated room by opening windows and using a fan.
