The Mozilla Firefox 1.5 Web browser launched in 2005. The Mozilla Project is a non-profit organization with a community of coders, artists and other talented individuals and groups dedicated to optimizing the Web browsing experience. As a Firefox user you can customize this browser with visual themes for personal viewing. The Mozilla Project released the Mozilla Thunderbird email client in December 2004. As a Thunderbird user you can create a contacts list in the digital “Address Book.”

      Open the Mozilla Firefox Web browser.

      Click the “Start” button or press the “Windows” key. The “Start” menu appears.

      Click “Mozilla Thunderbird” on the menu. The logo displays a blue bird with wings wrapped around a white envelope. Type in your password.

      Click the “Address Book” menu near the top of the screen. The “Address Books” page displays a list of your Thunderbird contacts.

      Click the preferred contact from the list. An expanded view of the contact’s information appears in the lower half of the screen.

Tips & Warnings

  • To edit a Thunderbird contact double-click the contact in the “Address Book.” The “Edit Contact” dialog window opens with a fillable form for editing. Save these changes.

  • To compose an email message to your Thunderbird contact click the contact's name listed in the "Address Book" screen. Click the “Write” button under the menu bar. An email message screen displays your contact’s name in the “To” section.

  • The “Tools” menu contains the “Address Book” option.
