How to Cut Short and Spiky Men's Hair

Spiky hair is not difficult to cut.

A short, spiky hairstyle is a hairstyle that has remained in fashion for men for many years. The length of the hair varies from year to year, but the same basic shape remains the same. You can create a variety of hairstyles with the same base haircut depending on how you arrange the hair after it is cut. Use paste wax to create defined spikes. You can also use gel to create less-defined spikes and hair that retains a slightly wet appearance throughout the day.

Things You'll Need

• Spray bottle
• Hair clippers with blade attachments
• Comb
• Scissors
• Paste wax

Instructions

1. Spray the hair with water and comb it out with a comb.

2. Cut the sides of the head with a number 3 blade on the hair clippers.

3. Cut the top of the head with a number 4 cutting blade.

   Feather the joint between the top and sides of the hair with scissors.

4. Cut around the ears, sideburns and neck with the bare cutting blade with no shield attachments.

5. Pull the hair straight up with the comb. Trim the top of the hair vertically with the scissors to create a slightly uneven texture to the top of the hair.

6. Rub your hands together with paste wax. Rub the wax into the man’s hair. Twist small sections of hair together between your fingers to create hair spikes.
