      Hold the hairspray can a foot away from the curls. Hairspray is designed to keep the strands from sticking together but, if you hold the can too close, the spray will be thick and will cake onto the hair too much.

      Press the button on the top of the can to release the hairspray. Spray in a constant stream all over the head to cover every single curl.

      Allow the hairspray time to dry and apply a second layer of hairspray to ensure the curls don’t budge an inch.

  • If you are curling your hair with rollers, apply the hairspray while the rollers are still in place for more rigid curls.
