Molds are available in large and small sizes.

Bags of candy disks in a rainbow of colors and flavors are available at your local craft store, bake shop or specialty outlet, along with an endless variety of molds. You can make candies and pops in nearly any shape or character by melting the candy, transferring it to a mold and allowing it to set in a refrigerator or freezer. One side of most candies is flat when cooled, but some molds feature a back and a front that can be attached to create three-dimensional candies. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Melt candy disks according to package directions. Pour or spoon candy directly into molds.

    • 2

Fill one half of the mold all the way. Fill the other half most of the way, leaving a bit of head room at the top.

    • 3

Bang the molds gently against a flat surface to remove air bubbles.

    • 4

Place the molds in a freezer or refrigerator until the candy hardens.

    • 5

Tip the full mold upside down, and press the back lightly to release the candy.

    • 6

Fill a squirt bottle with melted candy, and squirt a layer into the partially filled mold.

    • 7

Place the hardened half on top of the wet layer of candy, and return the mold to the refrigerator to set.

    • 8

Remove the candy carefully. The two sides will be stuck together to create a three-dimensional candy.
