How to Apply Concealer Without It Seeping Into Wrinkles
Properly applying concealer can be the difference between having flawless skin and having skin with visible lines and blemishes. Concealer can make dark circles around your eyes disappear, and can camouflage skin blemishes, such as acne, scars and age spots. But when applied incorrectly, concealer can settle into fine facial lines and wrinkles, drawing more attention to them. To keep this from happening, create a solid base before applying your concealer. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Wash your face with a mild facial wash formulated for your skin type. Use a clean towel to pat your face dry.
-
2
Apply a moisturizer for your skin type to your skin. Moisturize the area around your eyes with an eye cream. Use light taps from your ring finger to distribute the eye cream around your eyes. Applying moisturizer helps keep your skin hydrated so that makeup doesn't dry and cake. Wait two minutes for your skin to absorb the moisturizer.

3
Apply primer to your face. Primer plumps your skin and creates a smooth base so your makeup can't seep into fine lines and wrinkles.
-
4
Cover your face with a light layer of foundation. Dot foundation on your cheeks, forehead, chin and nose, and use a makeup sponge to spread the foundation evenly over your face. Use a foundation tint that is similar to your skin tone.
-
5
Dot concealer on your face where needed. If your skin is oily, use a solid, stick concealer. Apply a liquid or cream concealer if you have dry skin. Avoid using a concealer that's too light or dark because it will appear unnatural and obvious. Instead use a concealer that is no more than two shades lighter than your skin.
-
6
Distribute the concealer over your blemishes with light taps from your ring finger. Your natural body heat helps to easily blend the concealer with the foundation.
-
7
Dust a light layer of translucent, loose powder over your face to set your makeup.
