Instructions

    • 1

Wash your hair with a volumizing shampoo. As you wash, focus particularly on the roots, and massage your head firmly with your fingertips to remove dead skin and accumulated oil build up. This will stimulate healthier hair growth. After rinsing the shampoo, work a light conditioner into just the ends of your hair and rinse it out thoroughly.

    • 2

Apply a volumizing cream or mousse to your still-wet hair and comb through it with your fingers. Lift sections of hair at the root and treat them with a weightless root boosting spray.

    • 3

Separate your hair into sections and dry each one with a hair dryer and a large metal barrel roll brush. Start the brush on the underside of each section and roll it down slowly, following along the top with the hair dryer. Continue until you have completed each section. Drying your hair this way will give it volume at the root and roughen the cuticle of the hair shaft, making it thicker.

Lift sections of hair on the crown of your head and brush the hair back toward the scalp with a fine-tooth comb. Give each section a blast of hairspray and smooth the top layer of hair over the teased bottom section. Apply this method anywhere you need volume on your hair.
