How to Glue Down Ribbons to Metal Hair Clips
Hair clips are the perfect way to hold back sections of your hair while adding beauty and style to your look at the same time. Ribbon hair clips are available at many stores and boutiques, but in most cases they can be quite costly. You can make your own hair clips at home using ribbon bows and a plain metal hair clip, and the process is inexpensive, quick and easy.

1
Plug in the glue gun and let it heat up completely before using. While you wait, lay out newspaper and set up your supplies in preparation.
-
2
Take a ribbon bow and apply a dab of hot glue to the bottom center (or in a line if the bow is longer). You don't want to use so much glue that it will show once on the clip.

3
Push the ribbon onto the top of a metal hair clip, working quickly to ensure the glue doesn't dry first. Hold the ribbon against the clip for 10 seconds or until set in place. Then set the clip down on the newspaper to allow it to dry completely.

Cut off any excess strings of glue once the bow clip is totally dry.
