1
Trace or sketch your applique pattern on a piece of paper.
-
2
Use your pattern to cut a piece of fabric large enough to fit it.
-
-
3
Lay an adhesive sheet against the back side of your fabric clipping so that the paper side of the adhesive sheet is facing the outside.
-
4
Gently heat the adhesive side with an iron just long enough to make it stick to the fabric.
-
5
Flip over the fabric-adhesive paper cutout so that the fabric is facing up, then use adhesive spray to attach the paper with your pattern to the top of the fabric with the pattern facing up.
-
6
Cut out your applique pattern. Be very careful and exact when cutting, as this will turn out to be the final product for your applique.
-
7
Peel the pattern paper off the front of your applique, then peel the paper off the adhesive back side.
-
8
Position your applique on your sweater. Place it precisely at this stage.
-
9
Use an iron to adhere the applique to your sweater.
-
10
Stitch on a decorative border if desired.
