How to Keep Bugs Away From a Backyard Party

Enjoying nature with your friends is the point of throwing a party outdoors. But sometimes nature can be too invasive in your outdoor party, such as when bugs gather around your guests and your food. Prepare for your outdoor party by eliminating as many of the pests as you can beforehand, and then by using measures to keep them away during the party. That way, your guests can enjoy all of the positives of being outside without dealing with the negatives.

Things You'll Need

• Bug fogger
• Citronella candles
• Bug spray
• Repellent wipes

Instructions

1. Use an outdoor bug fogger on the area several days before the party. These foggers are made to disperse throughout the area, killing the pests in the areas of your yard where they live. Treat the actual party area as well as areas on the edges of the yard with tall vegetation.

2. Line the perimeter of your party with citronella candles. Purchase candles placed on stakes so that they look like Tiki torches. Add more citronella candles inside the party space, such as around the food, so that your guests are protected.

3. Set up a bug spray station so that your guests can arm themselves against any bugs that might make it through your preparations. Include traditional bug spray as well as bug repellent wipes.
