How to Burn Off a FIOS DVR

You can burn the programs off your FiOS DVR to watch the shows on another device or create physical backup of your recordings. FiOS DVR receivers roll the functions of a digital video recorder and TV set-top box into one device. The receiver does not however have a built-in burning drive so you will need a DVD recorder to copy the recordings on the DVR to a DVD.

Things You'll Need

• DVD recorder
• Composite cables
• Blank DVD

Instructions

1. Insert one end of the composite cables into the Video + Audio OUT ports on the rear of the FiOS DVR. Plug the other end into the Video + Audio IN jacks on the rear of the DVD-recorder.

2. Connect another set of composite cables to the Video + Audio OUT jacks on the DVD-recorder. Plug the other end of the cables into the Video + Audio IN ports on your TV.

3. Turn on the TV, the recorder and the FiOS DVR. Insert the blank DVD into the recorder's disc drive.

4. Press the "DVR" button on the FiOS remote to access the recordings on the DVR. Highlight a recording you want to burn and press the "Enter" button.

5. Press the "Record" button on the DVD-recorder to burn off the FiOS DVR to a DVD.
