How to Jailbreak an iPod 2G 2.0.1
Jailbreaking an iPod 2G, more often referred to as a second generation iPod Touch, unlocks the device from iTunes and allows you to install software from the Cydia app store. An iPod Touch running version 2.0.1 of the iOS operating system can be jailbroken quickly and safely using the JailbreakMe website. No additional software is required and you do not have to reset your iPod Touch during the jailbreak procedure.

Tips & Warnings
Back up your iPod Touch using iTunes on your computer before jailbreaking. This will allow you to reverse the jailbreak and restore your device to its previous state should you ever wish to do so.
All iOS devices, including the iPhone and iPad, can be jailbroken using this method as long as version 4.3.3 or lower of the iOS operating system is installed.
Updating or restoring the iPod Touch through iTunes will automatically reverse its jailbreak.
