Adding Baguettes to a Wedding Band
Choosing the stones for your wedding band can be a very personal process, as this ring will likely be worn daily as a constant reminder of your love and commitment. As years pass, you may want to make additions to the original wedding band that may have not been in your budget when you first were married, such as adding baguette style diamonds to the ring. Baguette diamonds can be added as a complement to existing stones or the sole touch of sparkle to a simple wedding band.

1
Consider the size and cut of the desired baguettes and compare it with the size and cut of the existing stones on the wedding band. Determine if there is enough room on the band for the additional stones.
-
2
Compare the style, color and cut of the baguettes with the existing stones on the band. The additional stones should reflect a similar style to the stones already on the band, to keep the look of the ring cohesive.
-
-
3
Evaluate the width of the wedding band compared to the size of the stones to ensure the ring can accommodate the baguettes.
-
4
Evaluate the placement of the baguettes on the wedding band. Consider whether you want the baguettes to span the entire ring or if you want a few stones at the center of the ring.
-
5
Decide on the setting for the baguettes. A channel setting allows you to place the stones together in a row without hardware between them, or bars, which use metal to maintain the placement of the baguettes.
-
6
Consider how the additional stones will complement the engagement ring. Ask yourself if the additional stones will take away from, or enhance, the look of the engagement ring.
-
7
Consider how the two rings will fit together and evaluate whether the additional stones will change how the two rings line up next to each other on your finger.
