How to Get Better at "DJ Hero"

"DJ Hero" is a music based video game that requires players to use a wireless turn table to keep in rhythm with the song. Players earn points based on their performance, which includes hitting the proper beats, scratching the record and adjusting the crossfade when necessary. "DJ Hero" has two gameplay modes -- career and multiplayer mode -- in which you will to need to score a certain amount of points in order to advance.

Instructions

    • 1

Spin the disc with your thumb when you need to press the blue button near the center of the disc. Since the blue button is closer to the center, it makes it more difficult to rotate with the same finger you are using to press it, using your thumb, in addition to your other finger, will give you more leverage and traction for properly hitting the note.

    • 2

While pressing the note buttons with your right hand, slide the "effects knob" with your left to multiply your point combo. You can perform this maneuver during gameplay when the option becomes available but it is not mandatory, so do not sacrifice note accuracy if you are not able to do both.

    • 3

Ignore the freestyle sections of the song, where you are allowed to press anything, if you are having a difficult time keeping up with the actual notes. The freestyle section gives you no points and therefore is not essential to success.

    • 4

Save up the "Rewind Meter" for when you miss beats, allowing you to back track through the that song to retry it. This is helpful for keeping your score combo alive and for correcting any mistakes you made.

    • 5

Enable "Euphoria" from the control board right before a crossfade section of the song begins. "Euphoria" will give you double points and complete the crossfade section for you. Should the effect run out before the crossfade section is over, you will need to be in position to pick up the crossfade right as "Euphoria" ends.
